I keep seeing humor in Christ’s replies to the Pharisees and nay-sayers. He says things similar to “what he said” or “you said it”, and is sharp as a whip in His replies.
A lot of scripture also does not speak as much to emotion as it does to action and choices (which is an education to me about our faith being about our choices not so much our feelings), so the sub-plot of how people felt and any peripheral goings on is not reported. Because of this void I often find myself seeing humor in places all through scripture.
In our daily lives, I think that having a sense of humor is very helpful, but I often make the error of allowing my humor to stray into areas that come rather “naturally“ to me because it plays in thought paths that were very well traveled before I started down a less natural and more super-natural path.
